Comfort and Joy

The pace has picked up.  Last minute planning, last minute making, readying for a full house.  Today is the solstice!  The sky is heavy with snow that will soon start to fall.  A blanket of white will wrap itself around us again, the perfect backdrop to show off this time of year - which is purely magical - jazz and dazzle lending a hand to darkness until the light starts to shine through on its own again.

I must tell you - I felt badly for days after publishing this post.  Who am I to boast, I thought.  I know very well how busy this time of year is.  I know so many who struggle with finding a balance during these harried days between long work schedules, holiday shopping, battling financial strain, juggling household duties, all while trying to be present with family...
I also must tell you that I've been there, and this is the first holiday season since having children that I didn't run myself and my family into the ground trying to be more than I could be.  I'm learning to let things go and to Let it be.  I'm learning that saying no isn't as frightening as it seems, and that less really is more.

It's all a bit chewy still - this business of owning feeling attentive and content.  But, I'm game to tread in these waters.  Perhaps you'll join me?

:::

Wishing you and yours a very joyous, very merry holiday!  See you next week.

Blessings and Love,
Katie

Such a cute photo at the end. Learning to find a little balance and "Peace" is why I frequent here! You share your moments so honestly.

Merry Christmas to you and all your boys!

I love your card so much. It makes me smile bright each time I pass it. Olive says, "Ohhh, boys." Cute. I think it's wonderful you've come to a point where you slow down and enjoy the season. It's all about recognizing and appreciating this full, wonderful life.
